Opportunities for Employment (OFE) is a private, faith-based, non-profit organization. Our mission is to assist adults to achieve self-sufficiency through full-time, long-term employment.
We are currently looking for a Counselor/Facilitator to deliver Stages of Change interventions. The incumbent will establish and maintain positive working relationships with the program participants as well as with partners involved in program delivery.
This position includes the responsibilities of intake assessment, Stages of Change assessment and the development and delivery of Stages of Change interventions including workshops and one-to-one Motivational Interviewing sessions that engage, encourage and motivate the participant in the process of finding and securing employment.
This is a full-time position. The Counselor/Facilitator will work Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. OFE is located at 300 – 294 Portage Avenue in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Successful applicants will have:
- Knowledge of the Stages of Change Model. Experience applying the principles of the model and intervention development is preferred.
- Well-developed skills in group facilitation and one-on-one counselling experience using the Motivational Interviewing technique.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and organizational skills, and will be an effective team member.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in case management along with data entry and data management abilities.
- Post-secondary education in a related field or the equivalent in experience.
- Able to provide a clear criminal record check and child abuse registry check.
