Number of Positions Open 1 Start Date of Employment ASAP Posting Date 28-Jan-2014 Expiry Date 04-Feb-2014 Educational Requirements Bachelors Degree Languages Required English Job Description Position #20018466 •Advanced degree in chemistry, physics, biochemistry or related fields required. •Project Management Certification from a recognized institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. •Knowledge/training in the concepts of project management processes and best practice, as well as project management tools used to apply them. •Must have strong demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Project and/or Primavera, the Microsoft Office Suite of products, and instrumentation and analysis software. •Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, evidenced by scientific publications, reports and presentations. •Excellent knowledge of research standards and processes, including scientific research in a relevant field and ethical reviews. •A minimum of 2 years experience in scientific research in pharmaceuticals sciences or related field in chemistry, physics, required. •A minimum of 2 years of experience with project management in the delivery of research development projects is required. •Experience in management of finances and coordinating of scientific collaborations required. •Demonstrated experience in grant financial management. •Previous work experience with teams developing and safeguarding intellectual property required. •Previous experience with development of legal contracts or equivalent required. •Training and experience in radiation safety preferred. •Experience with Health Canada regulatory requirements preferred. •Must have ability to design and execute scientific research studies. •Superior project management strengths including needs assessment, milestones, project segmentation, project costs and effectively utilizing project management tools. •Must have ability to learn and adapt quickly to a diverse, multi-disciplinary group of colleagues, stakeholders and collaborators. •Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize work and meet deadlines. •Must have excellent spoken and written communication skills. •Must demonstrate a high level of personal initiative, attention to detail. •Must have demonstrated ability to work effectively with teams. •Must have demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision. •Must have excellent knowledge of the laboratory design and construction processes. •Demonstrated knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices. •Preference will be given to candidates competent in an Aboriginal language and/or knowledgeable in Aboriginal customs, beliefs, and practices. Duties: The Project Coordinator is an integral member of the project team developing new research technologies and products. The successful applicant will participate in and coordinate laboratory design and construction activities, will be active in scientific research activities, and will be under direction of the Head - Radiopharmaceuticals Research Group (RRG). This position seeks a self-motivated, results-oriented individual with a strong technical background in bench scientific "hands-on" experience as well as a strong ability to manage people and projects. Physical Demands and Working Conditions: Continuous use of personal computer. Must have good physical and mental health and the ability to deal with stress. Incumbent will work with radiation and will be classified as a nuclear energy worker.
