The Newcomer Youth Educational Support Services provides summer education for new immigrants so that they have a better chance to do well. These are children who have come to Winnipeg with varied educational backgrounds. Too often, immigrant youth fall behind in the summer. This program allows them to stay engaged in education, and to have a good time as well. This is the help they need. The team at NYESS kept things together and even with major challenges, they found a way to succeed. As Karen said, at the windup Celebration this evening, "When there was no way, we found a way."
