Family Child Care Project
Support Coordinator/Program Facilitator
1 Year Term
With direction and supervision from the Program Manager and Child Care Resource Coordinator, the Support Coordinator/Program Facilitator will assist in developing a comprehensive curriculum to provide support and resources to program participants in becoming licensed to operate a successful, high quality family child care business in their home. Activities will include outreach/recruitment, screening, licensing application support, delivery of Family Child Care Training Course, development of modules specific to components of licensing, and ongoing mentorship of participants. Materials will be adapted and revised to simplify processes, and new approaches will be developed for diverse adult learners.
SKILLS
Strong project management skills including analysis, organization, ability to set and adapt priorities, time management skills, problem-solving, assessment, and evaluation skills.
ADULT EDUCATION SKILLS:
Experience and ability to create a positive learning environment; develop curricula; establish learning objectives; facilitate learning; and select and adapt appropriate resources for a diverse participant group; ability to use technology to facilitate learning.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong written, oral and public presentation skills
Program Planning Skills
Ability to analyze and assess needs, set goals, implement plans, monitor and evaluate
Knowledge of early childhood care and education; child care legislation; best practices for licensing family and group child care homes; commitment to high quality care and education
QUALIFICATIONS
University degree in Adult Education
TESL certificate
5 years minimum experience teaching English as an additional language to adult learners
2 years minimum program development experience
Solid computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point)
SALARY RANGE
FSW II ($42,343 TO $54,014),
