ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT 1.0 EFT – TERM (to March 31, 2014) POSITION TITLE: Administrative Assistant – Term REPORTS TO: Business Manager UNION AFFILIATION: CUPE Local 2348 SALARY RANGE: $15.72 - $17.47 / hour POSITION SUMMARY: The Administrative Assistant is responsible for the daily functioning of the Agency’s business unit while promoting a client-focused approach. The incumbent is responsible for the following areas of responsibility: reception and oral communications; accounting and bookkeeping, inventory management, procurement and deliveries; records management; preparation and distribution of correspondence, reports and documents for the Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer and other Agency staff and volunteers; planning and management of designated Agency and Board of Directors’ standing and ad hoc committees; preparation and upkeep of Agency manuals and publications. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Diploma from a recognized Business School or Community College Experience: Minimum of 3 years current financial accounting experience including payroll Exemplary communication skills both verbally and in writing Ability to relate to people in a friendly, courteous manner Ability to work independently Ability to organize and adjust to variable workloads or interruptions as required Ability to maintain confidential or sensitive information. Demonstrated evidence of continued professional development Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Computer applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and data base Sound knowledge of bookkeeping principles Knowledge of financial accounting software, Quick Books. Operational skill on basic office equipment Knowledge of advanced public relations procedures Keyboarding skill of 70 words per minute.
