In celebration
of Manitoba Access Awareness Week, the Manitoba Federation of
Non-Profit Organizations Inc. (MFNPO) and the Manitoba Access Awareness
Week Steering Committee invite you to attend a FREE half-day disability
awareness event especially designed for non-profit sector.
Did you know
Manitoba passed the Accessibility for Manitobans Act and will soon set
new obligations regarding disability access? Learn what you can do to
become a disability-friendly organization.
Training will
include:
- An
introduction to the Accessibility for Manitobans Act.
- What
do you need to know about disability and diversity.
- Practical
tips on disability accommodations.
- Q&A
with disability experts.
- An
interactive Jeopardy style game about disability related topics.
Manitoba Access
Awareness Week (MAAW) is celebrated annually with leadership from a
broad range of organizations representing and serving Manitobans with
disabilities. The goal to remove barriers to access in order to make
Manitoba a more inclusive society.
When you register,
please indicate if you require any disability-related accommodations
(e.g.material sent to you by e-mail prior to the event, sign language
interpreters, computerized note taking, etc.) or if you have specific
dietary needs.
