I know it is the democratic right of an individual to represent himself but when that individual uses that privilege to commit a crime (verbally abusing and intimidating) in a court of law that to me is crossing a line and I believe in the case below the adjudicator ought to have stepped in and ruled this respondent/cross-examiner out of order.

When women are abused and/or sexcually harassed they can become fragile emotionally and this should be taken into account in a human rights hearing. The fact that it is human rights raises expectations of respect that should take place in the courtroom.  It was very sad to hear that the woman was doubly jeopardized by her employer.

You are a divine spark

You are here and you were born of love and for love. Love is the greatest gift we have and when we embrace that divine love, life flows effortlessly and easily.

Happiness is living your truth. When you live a lie there is uneasiness. When you live in truth there is freedom and lightness.

Let your light shine. Open your heart, dispel judgements. Every time you judge someone look within yourself and see what it is that you are unhappy about, what is it about you that you are projecting on others.    Judgement is never about the other, it is about you.  It's all you.

You are a spark of the divine and it is up to you to show that to the world and not allow anyone to diminish it.  Stay away from those who encourage you to throw a blanket over your light or attempt to blow out your spark with negative emotions.  Seek the company of those who will fan the flames to let you shine brighter.

Have a terrific day and know you are loved, you are deeply loved and highly favoured today.
When mothers do their job poorly there are consequences for our children. If you are a mother who did not know better and now you do, reach out to your estranged child and say you are sorry and really mean it.  If you are a child who was rejected and abused by your parents especially your mother, forgive her and accept the fact that what happened happened and according to Dr. Wayne Dyer, take responsibility for what happened and tell yourself that you did not know better or you would have done better. He said it is the only way to move forward in your life. This may sound terrible and people might say it was not my fault.  What is the point of saying it is someone else's fault, does that make you feel better. If you take responsibility for what happened then you can take responsibility for getting over the hurt because the power is within you. If you blame others for your misfortune you will wait for them to do something about what they did for you to feel better. That may never come and you will remain stuck.
"Forgiveness is the fragrance the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it"   Mark Twain

You are loved

You are a divine spark of the Creator. You are an integral part of the human family and you have a right to your own beliefs, your choices and to make decisions for yourself. You are not a piece of property that someone can own. You are not a puppet on a string. You are a conscious being who have a role to play. There is a purpose to your life and you have to find that. If anyone stands in the way of that purpose you have a choice to make to - to defer your dream or to defer the relationship you are in. It's up to you.

India not a nice place for women and girls

What the hell is going on in India? Have some of these men gone coo-coo - what's up with raping a 5 year old girl? This makes me really mad.
It is nice to see so many men joining with women to seek justice for the little girl.
I think the government should be swift to punish this man to the fullest extent of the law to stop this recent terror of women.

Protecting land, protecting people
From Guyana to Vancouver, Janette Bulkan has built  a career on protecting indigenous land rights and access  to resources.
Her involvement with social issues in forestry began after she noticed more and more chainsaws in indigenous communities in her homeland of Guyana. The men from  these communities were getting into logging.
According to Bulkan, the assumption was that any illegal logging in the country was the work of small-scale, local forestry operations. But after visiting forest sites and documenting practices around the country, she saw that it was the large-scale operations that were not adhering  to guidelines and policies.
“Many of these operations were owned by transnational corporations which held, or illegally rented, logging concessions,” she says.
A new UBC faculty member, Bulkan investigated the slippages between national policies, and government and private sector practices, in forestry in Guyana for her PhD research, which began in 2003 at Yale University. She also worked with indigenous groups to document how these large companies were violating well-established forestry guidelines, land claims and human rights.
