THE MISSION OF A KEY LEADER (the Role):
The Key Leader is a key part of the Store Leadership Team and as such supervises the retail floor and takes initiative, delegates work and provides feedback to the team, follows up on outstanding issues and is a star “go to” person. Under the supervision and direction of the Store Manager, the position assists in any leadership duties that arise, thereby working directly with the Store Manager & Assistant Manager, as well as directly supervising the community leader and educator in the stores. The Key Leader also works closely with the Store Leadership Team in supporting the general store operation function.

KEY LEADER MUST HAVE’S (the Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications): • Passion, knowledge and involvement in yoga, and/or other fitness, health or sports activities required. We expect you as part of the Leadership Team to be enrolled in participating in weekly fitness activities in and out of the store with the store team
• Passionate for the lululemon athletica retail floor and product movement – Guest Experience
• Strong sense of personal style and athletically minded
• Extraordinary proven leadership capabilities – Entrepreneurship – an Ability to make decisions and take calculated risks
• Ability to inspire a team – Leaders create a future that wouldn’t have existed otherwise

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A KEY LEADER (the Tasks):
The key objective of the position is to ensure that the retail store runs well in the absence of the Manager or Assistant Manager. In this position you will be responsible for:
• Assisting in the key aspects of store operations and in ensuring the successful delivery of the lululemon athletica culture, philosophy, values, and vision of raising the overall level of health in our communities
• Encourages and energizes staff, and assists in evolving in-store functions and flow
• Directly supervises Educators when managing the floor
• Unpacks boxes for inventory as required. Boxes can weigh 10 - 30 lbs
• Under the direction of the Store and Assistant Manager, performs and completes other additional projects, duties and assignments as required and/or request

A KEY LEADER’S WORKING DAY (the Hours):
The Key Leader role is full time and works 24-40 hours per week managing and educating on the retail floor. We expect all full-time employees to be available to open and close, at a minimum, twice per week. Everyone must work one weekend day.

SELF DEVELOPMENT/LEARNING (the Growth):
The Key Leader is fully enrolled and is an advocate for the culture of lululemon athletica and the tools available for personal growth and development such as the library, Brian Tracy CD’s, and goal coaching. They understand these tools and work to enroll the rest of the team in them.
Proactively acquires knowledge/education regarding company general information, news bulletins, store policy, processes, quality control, new garments/styles, customer feedback/experiences, and staff information/communiqué.

Position Summary
The Buyer (Outdoor) is responsible for driving sales through effective category management. The Buyer (Outdoor) will plan and select a range of products, services and programs to be sold in stores and on-line while considering customer trends, customer buying patterns, market trends, and store foot-print/layout.
As the successful candidate, you will act as an integral member of the Merchandising team and help to create an environment that supports Princess Auto’s vision, mission, values and business objectives.
Responsibilities
  • Researches, sources and recommends potential new products and vendors
  • Manages and optimizes existing products and services
  • Ensures products meet corporate standards of image, brand integrity and profitability
  • Negotiates and creates buying/marketing plans for products
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Selects promotional feature products and establishes quantity and pricing
  • Ensures promotional projections meet expectations
  • Reviews event and promotional sales numbers for future planning
  • Works with stores and vendors to create sales materials
  • Evaluates product sales and determines the future of underperforming products
  • Considers tactics such as bundling items, pricing and product features to optimize inventory turns
  • Identifies top selling products and works cross-functionally to determine sufficient inventory
  • Maintains regular and seasonal products
  • Responds to requests on items such as product labeling, inventory, bulk pricing, product information, and parts
  • Communicates new product details and item updates to stores
  • Participates in Show and Sell, Product Knowledge Sessions, Leader Counsel Meetings and Royal Service Schools
  • Updates database with product information
  • Participates in various special projects as required
  • Travels to current and potential vendors and tradeshows to examine products for immediate purchase
  • Provides effective and highly visible leadership to Team Members including coaching, development and mentorship
Qualifications
  • 5 years’ experience as a Buyer with a national or regional retail chain
  • Certified Professional Purchaser (CPP) designation is an asset
  • Experience using Heiler Product Management is an asset
  • Ability to negotiate effectively
  • Ability to leverage consumer information and effectively monitor competitive activities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Occasional travel is required
