Sunrise Memorial - This is a great event - See you there

Sunrise Memorial Manitoba Status of Women & Manitoba Women’s Advisory Council  Manitoba Legislative Building  8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.  This event is to commemorate the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women in honour of the 14 young women killed in the Montreal massacre in 1989 and women in Manitoba who have died as a result of violence in 2016.  The memorial will feature poetry readings by Larysa Musick and Abdul Smith from the Winnipeg Poetry Slam, an honour song by Jenna Wirch of the Manitoba Women’s Advisory Council and candle lighting by members of the Mama Bear Clan Patrol. Jamie Skinner, a member of the Manitoba Women’s Advisory Council will be the emcee of the event.  Refreshments available.  Registration/info: (204) 945-6281, email: msw@gov.mb.ca
